GCSE Results 2025

After a long wait over the course of the summer, young people at Burnt Mill Academy returned to school today to collect their GCSE exam results.

73% of students received a standard pass in English, ranging from Grades 9-4. Whereas 59% achieved a strong pass in the subject, which ranges from Grades 9-5. 68% received a standard pass in Mathematics, compared to the 49% who achieved a strong pass.

Among the highest achieving students in Year 11 are:

  • Hetul Vaidya: One Grade 9, Seven Grade 8's, Two Grade 7's and One Grade 6
  • Vaiga Sujith: One Grade 9, Six Grade 8's and Two Grade 7's
  • Ryan Mombo: Two Grade 9's, Four Grade 8's and Two Grade 7's
  • Tegan Marks: Four Grade 9's, Three Grade 8's and One Grade 7
  • Ahmed Nuzhat: One Grade 9, Three Grade 8’s, Four Grade 7’s and One Grade 6
  • Yu Yao: Four Grade 9’s, Three Grade 8’s, One grade 7 and One Grade 6

In one very special case, while the rest of his peers had sat their GCSE mock exams earlier this year, David Song who is currently in Year 10, achieved a Grade 9 in Further Mathematics.

Laura McGlashan, Headteacher said: “We would like to congratulate all of our Year 11 students on their GCSE results. 

“Our students worked incredibly hard and were supported throughout by their teachers and families. We wish all our students the very best of luck for their future.”
