Curriculum in Years 7, 8 & 9

In addition to the core subjects, students in years 7, 8 and 9 are taught History, Geography, RE, Modern Languages, Computer science/computing, Art, Design & Technology*, PE and SMSC (social, moral, spiritual and cultural education).

*Students in Year 9 only study ADT if they choose it as an option.

All students have the opportunity to do Music tuition for the following instruments, Violin, Piano and Guitar. We also offer voice coaching. Music tuition is offered at a subsided rate, with the school partially paying the cost. All Pupil Premium students are provided with free tuition. If you need further information on Music tuition please contact the school. 

Every year group at Burnt Mill Academy are offered a wealth of enrichment courses and clubs each day before and after school. Year 7, 8 and 9 students are expected to attend at least one club per week whilst our year 10 and 11 students attend study clubs as directed by their teachers and/or determined by their particular work demands throughout the year.
