Young people think about unkind language
Posted: 8th August 2022Young people stopped to think about whether the language they use could be deemed unkind or inappropriate.
Students in Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 worked with the Hope Not Hate advocacy group.
Workshops focused on language and the impact our words have on other people.
Vice principal Rachel Braniff said: “Students were introduced to the idea that ‘banter’ is not an excuse for unkind and inappropriate comments.
“As a school, we are focusing on developing our culture of kindness and respect.
“This was a really thought-provoking day, with students questioning their own use of words and language.”
