Burnt Mill's best ever sports team!

Posted: 18th April 2016

The senior netball team is the most successful sports team the school has ever seen. The achievements this year include winning the following tournaments -

Essex Plate,
West Essex League
Harlow League
Harlow Tournament
West Essex Tournament

in short, they are the champions of everything they have competed in!

The team consists Hanae Sbai GD, Amber Moore GA, Kelsey Pooley GS, Millie Hall C, Ellie Hayden WD/GS, Latriece Hatcher GK, Jade Wright WA, Abigail Jaggs WA andMegan Caswell  WD

In a joint statement, PE Teachers Miss Helen Roper and Kristina O’Hara have said -

‘The pupil’s commitment and dedication to the team and to the GCSE PE course has been absolutely outstanding, with many of the girls attending extra practices at 7.30am numerous times a week. They are fantastic role models to the younger pupils as they are the epitome of how hard work pays. What stands out about this team is their cohesion as a unit, even as they have only been training together a year, the team spirit is phenomenal – as well as being extremely successful, this group of girls are thoughtful and supportive of others and are the most modest group of young ladies you can come across. They have been an absolute delight to train and we are extremely proud of every single one of them.

‘A huge thank you must go out to our fantastic group of parents. They have supported the team from day 1, many attending every match and numerous competition, travelling miles and standing out in all weather conditions. We couldn’t of done it without them – a real team effort on every level!’
